A Mother’s Day gift
Wanted to make my mom something unique and fun for a gift. This definitely fit the bill. This piece is 6 layers of 1/8″ baltic birch. Each layer painted alternately with black and white. I found the picture online and printed it out to add to the back. Then I coated the whole thing in A LOT of clear resin on both sides. The challenge was the edges as just resin pouring over the sides was messy and left drips after curing. I tried sanding as best as I could but I had to be careful to not expose the wood as it needed to be waterproof. It’s not perfect as I’m still not an expert with resin but I like it anyways and my mom loves it. 🙂
