My First Mechanical Piece

When I came across this pattern, I knew I had to try it for a challenge. The pattern called for just wooden gears and rubber bands. Peter insisted that just would not do and convinced me to buy metal cogs and posts and proper rubber belts along with the small motor from Amazon. I cut out the wooden pieces from 1/4″ baltic birch and Peter helped me with some of the technical assembly. I used an old clock casing to mount it on which worked perfectly to hide the components in the back. So we ended up altering the original plans significantly. I’m happy with the way it turned out and it looks pretty trippy when running.
