My first complicated piece
This was my first crack at something more complicated with many more detailed cuts as well as the added challenge of turning it into a corner shelf.
I cut it from a lovely piece of 1/4″ dark walnut then oiled and varnished it. I then brought the patterns for the shelves to a glass store and they provided me with exactly what I needed at a very cheap price. They even rounded over the outer edge!
I used a router to create grooves to inset the glass. That was scary! But it actually all fit together amazing well and this remains one of the pieces I’m proudest of. I kept it and it lives here in my place.
